Welcome to corporate america

The LG Electroncis corporate runaround

I purchased an LG Split level heating/cooling system November, 2022, with 3 indoor units. According to my receipt and manual, this has a 5 year warranty. The system was working until about 2 months ago, when I noticed rattling sounds in the unit in my bedroom, and knocking sounds in the one in the other bedroom.

So I called the customer service phone number and explained to the employee my situation. “We co not handle warranties in this department, you have to call this number.” So I called the next number, and was greeted with the same statement. Having heard the same corporate american runaround, or what I also like to call the “Who's on first” routine for many decades, I decided to stop wasting more time and energy, and made a complaint to the NJ Better Business Bureau, the NJ Attorney General, and Pissed Consumer (LG Electronics is located in Englewood Cliffs, NJ).

A few days later, I was contaced by Carlise, the presidential represantative. She told me to take a photo of the units in question and send it on over to her. I asked her if she would call me, she said that she would. A week later, no calls. So I contacted her, asking the status. Carlise stated that it was “kicked back” another words, we won't be repairing/replacing your unit.

A few days later I received a message stating that I can purchase a second year of warranty for $185. I responded with “I have a 5 year warranty.”

Just out of curiousity, I did an internet search on LG electronics complaints, and the results were many, many, many negative reviews, just like mine. I'm sure most, if not all of you have at one time experienced the corporate american runaround. My advice is before you make a purchase, do some detective work and research the company.
